one of my networks has me on net 30 on paper but the last two cycles the money landed way past that with no heads up. earnings tab says approved, the payment just sits there. support gives me the usual processing backlog line which i dont fully buy in october. is slow pay getting wider right now or did i quietly slide into a worse payment tier? debating pausing promotion until they clear what they already owe.
seeing terms slip a bit here too but not by weeks, more a few days late. the quiet downgrade is real though, when a rep suddenly cant explain why a payment is late its usually that you got dropped into a slower batch. ask them point blank if your payment terms changed, if they dodge you have your answer.
net 30 turning into net 50 with no notice is almost never a backlog, thats a cash flow problem or a tier change on their side. a real backlog slips a few days, it doesnt double your wait. id keep a second network running the same offers for a cycle, if that one pays on time and this one doesnt youll know its them, not the whole market tightening.
pausing while they owe you isnt a wrong instinct but dont go cold turkey, if you stop sending entirely and then they do pay youve killed your momentum for nothing. throttle maybe a third of the volume first and keep the rest alive until you actually see money move.
check whether you tripped a payment hold on their side, a new kyc or tax form they now want, or a minimum threshold they quietly raised. a few networks tightened compliance recently and payouts just sat parked until paperwork cleared, and the dashboard wont show that cleanly, it only says approved while nothing moves.
this is exactly why i shifted most of my volume to revshare where i can. on cpa you wait on their payment calendar and get no straight answer when its late. revshare at least i see the backend accrue and i know the money is real even if the payout day is the same. not saying drop cpa everywhere but worth having one revshare deal as a control.
A network can be slow to pay and still be worth keeping if the EPC is high enough to carry the float. Before you pause, work out whether you can actually afford to bankroll their net term out of your own pocket for a cycle. If the delay is forcing you to slow your spend, that is the real cost, not the lateness by itself. A payout you cannot afford to wait on is not really a high payout.
second network idea is smart, setting that up this cycle. and yeah the rep went quiet the second i asked if my terms got moved, which tells me plenty. ill throttle rather than kill it dead like you said. appreciate it, will report back once the next payment is supposed to land.
following up since you said youd report back. if the second network pays clean and this one keeps dragging, dont waste energy fighting the rep, just shift the weight over and keep a small spend alive so you can tell when they fix their pay cycle. some networks tighten for a quarter then go back to normal.
keep a dated log of every late payment, promised date vs actual. when you finally push the rep, numbers in an email beat a vague they always pay eventually. ive had terms honored just by showing a clean record of the slippage, it signals youre watching and not an easy one to quietly park.
This is the part people skip when they pause. If you go fully dark you lose the signal of when they start paying on time again, and then you are just guessing about when to ramp back up. A trickle of spend is cheap insurance for that information alone.
from the processing side, sometimes the network isnt stiffing you, their own acquirer put a hold on them and the delay rolls downhill to you. doesnt help your cash flow but it does mean screaming at your rep wont speed it up. the ones that actually tell you the why are worth keeping over the silent ones.
net 30 that quietly becomes net 50 is my cue to start diversifying regardless of the excuse. not a breakup, just stop being so concentrated on one payer. the slip is almost always the first visible sign of something on their balance sheet you cant see.
coming from mainstream this delay thing still rattles me, net 15 was the norm and you set your watch by it. budgeting for a 50 day gap instead of 30 is a real change to how much float you carry. wish someone had told me to pad that before i scaled the spend up.
